Eric Chavez was signed by Ron Vaughn on August 27, 1996...graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1996...was a two-time Baseball America High School All-America selection...was the only junior on the 1995 squad after batting .537 with 9 HR, 35 RBI and 51 steals and then hit .458 his senior season with 11 HR, 24 RBI and 33 stolen bases...participated in the SAFER program, the Monte Carlo Classic to benefit Special Olympics, the Community Fund Golf Classic and the Holiday Fest for needy families in 2000...he and his wife, Alex, have a son, Diego (8/22/05)
